Heading Home
Most of today has been spent in the car as we headed home. We had a great journey to the Euro tunnel in Calais, got Louis' passport checked and then had enough time to pick up something for lunch and search for a blip.
This statue is outside the terminal building and is called 'Europa Operanda' by Ludmila Tcherina. According to Wiki, Ludmila was born in 1924 and was a French prima ballerina who also appeared in several films, and wrote two novels. She had a passion for painting and created several sculptures including this one which was presented to Queen Elizabeth II and President Francois Mitterrand in 1994 at the inauguration of the Channel Tunnel.
We then boarded our train, but soon after, they announced that there was a problem in the tunnel and we were going to be delayed by 50 minutes! As all the cars had been loaded, there was nothing we could do but sit in the car on the train and wait. Anyway we finally got on our way and despite the delay we were home before 5pm.
So after unloading the car, and unpacking it's a relaxing night at home, and I'll catch up on your journals - hope you're having a good Sunday!
