Killarney To Dublin
I always find driving home after a road trip slightly melancholy, a rewinding, tinged with loss. But Dave and myself found things to amuse us, such as this wayside shrine/poster which I spotted. I'd photographed a couple of these over the past few years, the same weather-faded image with that earnest declaration of trust. I especially liked the way the image had yellowed so that it matched the hedge behind it. We liked the house too, and I think I made out a sacred heart statue in one of the windows. Somehow, each of these elements cohered into an odd little composition. I wonder if anyone glanced out and saw us, and wondered.
