Mobile School
As a traveller, it's not all about the sites, but about the life and people in the country. After seeing the fabulous Debra Berhan Selassie church, I stumbled across this mobile school in the centre of Gondar.
Run by a local organisation called Yenege Tesfa, the mobile school caters for street kids in the city. It's a fabulous concept. There are loads of activities for the children, helping to improve their literacy and numeracy skills, as well as drawing. The organisation also sells meal and medicine coupons, which in turn they give to children and poor families.
The poverty in Ethiopia can be overwhelming. However seeing this fantastic organisation made me feel optimistic for the future.

This young boy is a salesman. In his black box he sells chewing gum and paper hankies. He's proudly showing his drawing here.
