Dallas? - no, Chicago? - no, Phoenix? - yes!
So.....last night at 10pm on the way back from a friend's house I randomly checked the flight status of our flights tomorrow. It came up that our flight from Dallas to Philly had been cancelled due to forecast bad weather in the South East. So calling American Airlines reservations to find out what our options were I was told that the wait was 2+ hours so put my number in the queue for a call back. I was awoken at 4am by the reservation person who said I had been booked on a flight via Chicago that left later in the day, so I had a sleep in instead of getting to the airport at 6am....
Turned up to the airport, checked bags in and went through security and was waiting at the gate. About 10 min before boarding we got a call on our mobiles from AA reservations saying that our flight from Chicago to Philly had been cancelled and that they had scheduled us on a flight from Chicago to La Guardia in NYC and that flight from there to Philly on Monday eve. This was no good as our boss was adamant that we made all 5 days of training.
So after some negotiation with the check in guy at the gate he managed to book us on a flight on US Airways (now merging with AA) via Phoenix that left in a hour. That meant pulling our bags off the flight to Chicago, us going back out through security and getting them off the carousel. Then we had to check in at the US Airways desk and go back through security and run to the gate.
Luckily we made the 40 min flight to Phoenix, then thankfully the 5 hour flight to Philly. They even gave me the exit row seat which had no seat infront and unlimited leg room! Blip taken from said seat after we had taken off from Phoenix and circling around the downtown to head North East to Philly.
We arrived into Philly at 11:00pm and got our bags fine (thankfully) and our taxi guy (who had been rearranged 3 times) picked us up and took us the 30 min or so to Radnor and our hotel. The bar was still open due to Superbowl being played earlier so managed to grab a quick meal and a well deserved beer before heading to bed and catching a few hours sleep before 5 days of training tomorrow.
Snow forecast however.....
