Snow!
So after too few hours sleep the alarm went off far too soon and it was still pitch black outside. The snow forecast overnight did not arrive as predicted which was disappointing however during breakfast the heavens opened and the snow started to fall and soon built up.
We were transported via mini-van to HQ a couple miles away. The roads had not been ploughed too well yet and were a bit dicey. On one turn at an intersection we were at one point sliding towards a lamp-post but luckily the tires got traction and we were ok.
HQ was pretty much shut down and a building with 300-400 people was deserted with a skeleton staff only. Thankfully after our mammoth journey yesterday in order to make it out on time the first day wasn't cancelled. In our training room we had a great backdrop of the snow falling on the gardens and over the day it soon piled up to around a foot (blipped).
Training wasn't too bad but not sure how much of it I will actually use or use properly....
Luckily they are good at snow clearing in this neck of the woods and the drive back was fine. We had a nice 4 course meal in the hotel with everyone on the training, a couple of beers and then retiring to bed to get some much needed sleep! Same again (minus snow) tomorrow
