Meant to seek out some manner of owl for today's celebration (that is, what the National Audubon Society has dubbed "Superb Owl Day") but I had no such luck. So instead I blip a rendering of a Barred Owl (Strix varia)--an invasive yet beautiful species here on the west coast--from a shirt that was recently bestowed upon me by me Ma.
