High Tide

After all the rain and gales which caused more floods and landslips around the Island, today was sunny and calm, perfect for a walk along Cowes Esplanade along the South Coast.

Returning to the town just at high tide the water was washing over the footpath at Cowes Castle with the occasional larger wave giving a soaking to those who misjudged the time to make the crossing. To the left of the walkers there is a 3 foot drop down to the beach so care was needed to make the traverse.
