A Slice of Life
Worth Valley. West yorks. UK.
On bleak day, a view looking up the Worth Valley towards Keighley in the distance with the Aire valley crossing from left to right under the moorland at the top of the picture. The village of Crossroads is on the first strip of houses on the left.
The stone is part of a memorial to 24 year old Dale Ainslie who was killed in an odd and tragic motorway accident when the van he was in drove at 100 mph into the back of a tipper truck. He wasn't driving.
On the other side the stone is formed into a seat.
He was from Crossroads. A nearby stone bears the following inscription :
Dale Ainslie
Loved Life
Loved Daughter
Loved Crossroads
I discovered this memorial by accident when I stopped the car to look at the view.
