Airplane Photography
Every time I fly the good old Basel-Edinburgh line, I see loads of people taking pictures of sunsets, coasts, or just clouds with their phones. We all have seen what they can look like.
Turns out, pictures other than those of sunsets are surprisingly hard to take when you're in an airplane. Firstly, the windows are usually dirty, and since they're usually double glazed, you can't get that out of focus too well. Secondly, flares are a real issue with dirty double glazing. Thirdly, the scattered light in the atmosphere makes it a really tough job to get proper contrasts.
With my shitty body cap lens, which is awful anyway when it comes to contrast, I was pretty disappointed with the shots. Lightroom helped a bit, but now it really looks heavily post-processed (because it is).
Try again with a polariser. Still, funky shot of Edinburgh.
