Happy Birthday, Gemma
Gemma is 19 today.
She went to Exeter for the day with her friends. When she got back we took her to the local pub for tea.
I didn't take cake or camera out with us because it was absolutely peeing it down and I didn't want either to get soaked. So she had modest candle-blowing-out shenanigans when we got home.
It's been a quiet evening for a birthday but she's going out again at the weekend.
It's also the shop's 19th birthday today. It's bonkers that both Gemma and our shop have been around for 19 years. It's also bonkers what we managed to achieve in those crazy, mad weeks 19 years ago.
I was 19 when I met Gemma's Dad. It doesn't seem that long ago, and now she is 19 herself I realise just how quickly she's grown up and how much potential for change there is for her life in the next few years.
I'd love to write more but I'm too tired to be deep and meaningful!
