A new view

We made the most of the brighter weather this morning and went for a walk before the next load of wind and rain hit us.
The dunes at Crow Point, at the end of Braunton Burrows, have been eroded so badly by the big strong tides and high winds that Appledore can now been seen across the water without walking around the point.

It's weird. And a bit scary.

I also took a few photos of North Devon's most photographed boatwreck and can see how it too might disappear soon with no dunes to protect it. It's already looking feeble after the recent bad weather. When I came home I looked at older photos and it was clear just how much had changed.

It was lovely to see blue sky for a few hours. Such a shame it didn't last long. The wind's been howling again this evening and rain keeps coming. We're just waiting for the local news to see what's been going on around our coastline.
