Terracotta Lantern Army

Not the greatest day weather-wise for photos today but it was lovely on arriving at my lecture on African World Politics to be greeted by these lantern/statues in the square of Old College at Edinburgh University. The art instalment 'The Lanterns of Terracotta Warriors' is to be on display for the next week to celebrate Chinese New Year. I decided to return later in the evening when the lanterns would be lit up (after an arduous several hours filling out applications and doing dissertation work). I was not disappointed by the display of bright and colourful lanterns lighting up the quad and the previous barriers removed so you are able to walk all the way around them. A nice end to a long day!
