Life in a Northern Town

Marsden

This morning I went to Marsden to drop off the bags of clothes at the TIA greyhound rescue charity shop. I accidentally ate a full breakfast in a nearby cafe - diet is going splendidly.

Marsden has a real end of the road feel to it. As you approach on the A62, the snow lights get closer together, and their warnings become more emphatic - basically ending with "if these lights are flashing you're b*ggered".

I intended to take a photo of a disused mill to highlight the town's industrial past, but I was lured by the colour on the moors. This view is directly across the valley from where I stood in the icy wind on Saturday morning to take this.

You have to watch yourself around there, it is dangerously close to Lancashire.

Now I am supposed to be working - ha!
