Victorian Postbox near Warnham

This postbox lies to the NW of Warnham at the junction of Mayes Lane and Northlands Road. Overall it is in reasonable condition and has a pyramidal cap. Although there are lots of Victorian boxes about, many have been replaced and this one is one of the best rural ones I have spotted locally. With recent privatisation there has been much debate about what will happen to our postboxes. As far as I know they are have some measure of protection and ones like this one more so. I have always been interested in street and roadside furniture; and postboxes, direction signs and road nameplates all add something to local distinctiveness wherever you are.
