I've always maintained that creative people are simple creatures on the whole.

The way to get the best out of them is not with a stick

or even a carrot

(Although carrots help, especially the ones disguised as beer and chocolate.)

All it requires to keep us happy

is a chunk of inspiration

the freedom to fly

and a pat on the back when the job is done.
