Uh oh, whose roused the lion?

This is one of two guardians on either side of an elaborate entry gate to a house. His gold paint is a little faded. I wanted a foto of them wearing red bows for the holiday season, but I waited a little too long. They must be "pets" as well to endure the indignity of that!
