The Lake District ........very wet, very windy!

I decided to walk to the lake to take a misty and mysterious shot of the water and mountains. After traipsing through mud and water logged paths, the hills were not even visible and it was impossible to tell where the water stopped and the clouds began!

At one point I seemed to be the only person out braving the elements until I caught sight of this couple through the torrential rain. They called over to tell me they had just got engaged and offered me a drink. Drinking champagne in the rain is a surprisingly lovely experience.

I will probably never meet them again but it was a bright moment in a very grey day and I wish them good health and happiness.
