A Shadow of a Former Giraffe...

Do you know what the Recurrent Laryngeal Nerve is? It's a nerve that takes the signals from your brain and carries them to your larynx or voice box. So the best route would be a short distance from the base of your brain across the neck to your throat. In mammals, this nerve actually travels from the base of your brain down to around where your heart is and then loops back up to it's final destination in the larynx. A okay for a human yes. Think about that same route in a giraffe. That's about 10 to 15 feet worth of nerves to get from the brain of the giraffe looped down in it's chest and back up to it's throat.

Also, what is the most distinctive feature of a giraffe? Yes, it's long neck, and do you know why it is so long?

It's because their feet stink!

PeeeeYeeeeewwwwww!!!
