The Long Necked Camel Leopard...

Do you the species name for a giraffe? It's Camelopardalis and is derived from it's early Roman name as it was thought to have characteristics of both the Camel and the Leopard. This english version of this, camelopard, first appeared in the 14th century and survived in common usage until the 19th century.
