Today's the day .................. to go to the beach

We're now spending a few days in the lovely little city of Nelson - apparently situated right in the middle of New Zealand.

The Nelson region is a popular place for visitors, both local and from overseas, to come - and it's easy to see why. It is within easy reach of three National Parks including the wonderful Abel Tasman NP, it has a great climate and it is a centre for all sorts of arts, crafts, food, wine and beer festivals.

And I have to say that we found the roads busy today as we went off to find a beach to chill out on. But then I suppose it is a Sunday - and we have become accustomed to there being very little traffic to contend with over the past few weeks.

However, there are so many idyllic beaches on this coast that it was easy to find one (almost) to ourselves ...................
