Today's the day ................... to eat and drink

It was one of the most important events in the region's calendar today - the 2014 Marlborough Wine & Food Festival - and there was no way we were going to miss out on that.

I mean - if you combine the essential ingredients of gourmet food, Marlborough's famous wines, some of New Zealand's best musical talent and a warm sunny day - you're on a winner from the start. It's a bit of a fashion fest too with some people getting seriously dressed up for the occasion hoping to win the competition for the best-dressed woman/man.

These girls were modelling shoes (yes, honestly!) by the Kiwi designer Kathryn Wilson. Apparently she made matching shoes for Beyonce and her daughter Blue Ivy so she must be good.

Everything got a bit madder as the day went on - probably because of all that good Marlborough wine being tasted - but it was all great fun and in the best possible taste .....................
