Mountain Rescue

Just an exercise today but team members of a local mountain rescue team are being briefed on helicopter operations in preparation for the real thing.

Weather changes quickly here and shortly afterwards we were flying through a snow showers up to a drop off point high up in the hills. The wind was fairly friendly, the ride not too bumpy.

This is close to where I had my first winter experience walking in the Scottish hills and have climbed one or two other mountains in the this region over the years. It is a dramatic landscape with 3000' mountains dipping their toes into Loch Duich. At Sheil Bridge a number of glens meet, with hills crowding over narrow gashes in the landscape. I have not caught the drama in this photo. I'll leave that for another day.
