Water Wheel
About 10 years ago, the Stornoway Trust re instated this water wheel in the Castle Grounds. Now it generates electricity for the street lamps in the grounds, making walking the dog in mid winter slightly less hazardous.
With camera propped on a suitable hand rail (and held securely for fear of it adding to the weight of water turning the wheel) I got a few long exposures. I chose this one simply because it caught some weird coloured streaks. I can only guess that my lens has got some very nasty scratches or that water drops were in exactly the right place to detract the light into its red and yellow wavelengths.
