The start of something ....

Hyacinths have such a gorgeous smell. I have cheated and bought these at IKEA rather than planting them up myself.

Their growth is fascinating to watch - it would be good to take time-lapse photos! The only frustrating thing is that they do love to grow towards the light, like any sensible plant, I suppose - and then they get so leggy that the flower flops over. I must find a little bit of dowelling for support for later.

The Ards Man finished re-doodifying our wood burning stove, so it is producing suspect smells as the various cements 'prove '. It does look lovely though.

I think we may have to wear gas masks for a while. Are they this season, do you know?
