STORM DAMAGE

This is the first opportunity that we have had to see the storm damage that occurred in Meiring's Poort during the early weeks of January when we were away in Simon's Town.
The pass through Meiring's Poort is designed to cope with large volumes of water. No photograph can capture the scale of this flood. Dry branches, huge boulders and deep gullies at the side of the road are hints of the destructive power of water.
There are teams of men hard at work clearing the debris.
