A Laughing Cry

Milford Sounds

As planned, set off early and had a great road journey to Milford through the early morning mist and sleet. The cruise around Milford Sounds was outstanding. Our boat left at 9am at around a quarter capacity. They even chucked in a complimentary breakfast for us early birds! It was completely awe-inspiring to cruise within huge mountains and realise how small and insignificant we all are in comparison to this planet.

We then set off and took in some of the other highlights of the Sounds including a 3 hr trek up a 1000m mountain through rich colourful rainforest bush towards the desert like summit. As a result looking forward to my steak and chips to recharge the batteries!

Took 541 photos today. So many to choose from but I had to opt for this one of my 'capable assistant' standing in front of the highest waterfall on Milford Sounds. (She has forwarded my blip to a couple of friends so they can see what she's up to so if you're looking at this anyone, Jodie was freezing and the smile lasted seconds only).

(By the way, I am in trouble now!!)
