Live it loud!

Sutton Stop

Another day at home. Now in the difficult space between wanting to get back to work but still not feeling quite good enough. Hopefully another good nights sleep will sort things.

The day started very grey. It did brighten up but then started to snow with flakes the size of old pennies and larger. I spent an hour or so doing another rose following yesterdays. Still tiring even though I just sat there. The result is here!
I didn't want to blip another shot so this was my banker for the day.

The sun finally came out and I had to venture out - a short drive into town to get some bread. On the way back I stopped for a few minutes at Hawksbury Junction which is at the end of the Oxford Canal (directly in front in this image) and the Coventry Canal (which goes in both directions, left and right on the other side of the bridge).

The lock at the end of the Oxford Canal is interesting in that it is the lowest drop of any lock in the country at just 18". Ludicrously small! It was put there deliberately because the owner of the Oxford Canal didn't want anyone stealing his water.

This is an interesting location with so many things to photograph (more images from today starting here!

The frustration is that there are electricity pylons all around. It is almost impossible to get a good shot without cables and metalwork straying into shot. Even this image has had a power cable strung right across the middle (inexpertly) cloned out. So, if you do visit, please be under no illusions about clutter around and in almost every shot.

Best viewed Large to grab the detail.

I rattled off a few images, some bracketed shots in about ten minutes and then back home. Am about ready for bed now after doing some editing and its not even 7pm.

Tomorrow will be better.
