Artisan colour.
This is our one day off from Panto this week so we had planned a day out. As ever the weather has stepped in to put a stop to that!
As we walked home from the pub last night, after the final dress rehearsal, there was a sprinkling of snow. It was crisp and icy which I had hoped might lead to something interesting to blip this morning. I spent most of the morning cleaning the house and in particular the bathroom after the installation of the new shower cubicle yesterday. All done now and it is very nice though I do, rather disconcertingly, still keep finding glass!
It is raining heavily now and being the thoroughly unpleasant day that was predicted.
So I thought I would look for a bit of colour.
These hand made ceramic buttons were my purchase at 'The Little Shop' in Bristol we visited a couple of weeks ago. The promotional flyer that came in the bag with them depicts the street art decorating the shop that I featured as my blip on that day.
They were quite expensive I suppose but I do think 'cheap' buttons can ruin something that you have put a lot of effort into making. Having said that I'm not sure what I will use these for. The dark blue one will probably make a top button for the Noro cardigan seen here which I made for New Zealand last year, (it had some vintage buttons on that I removed to use on my cable rib cardigan! They came from a great little sewing shop further up the same road)
Nice prospect deciding what to knit to go with the buttons! One thing is for sure it won't be my only visit to the little art shop.
