A view from Jeanneb

Sun on snowdrops.

At last we have made it out for the day. Bright sunshine and no rain, but quite a strong and sneaky wind.

We headed for the Yorkshire Wolds and it would appear that this eastern side of the country has had far less rain the the rest of us. I went armed with wellies but they weren't needed on the woodland paths which were the focus of our visit to Burton Agnes Hall.

They open their gardens annually in February to early March for the Snowdrop Spectacular walk through the woods.

As you can see they are truly Spectacular and the walk is quite extensive with snowdrops all the way!

We arrived in time for coffee, walked for about 1.5 hours and then returned to the courtyard cafe for lunch. Lovely home made produce and we were able to buy pots of snowdrops or in our case Iris Reticulata to bring home.

The only disappointment is we didn't have time to carry on to the coast (Bridlington is not very far away -10-15 miles) as we needed to get back for tonight's opening night of the Pantomime.

I have wanted to do this for a long time and it was definitely worth it. We will make the trip again to see the gardens in summer and include a trip to the seaside for fish and chips of course!
