LADIES WHO LUNCH

I was invited out to lunch today by Susan, a friend of mine from church. After a morning at school, I got drenched when I walked down to her house, but we set off in good spirits and ended up at a nearby Garden Centre, where we had a lovely lunch and catch up, as we hadn't seen each other to chat for sometime.

After lunch, we went for a wander round the Garden Centre because it was raining so hard that we would have got soaked walking back to the car - in fact, whilst we were eating our lunch, the hail was so hard on the roof we couldn't hear ourselves speak!

There were lots of bargains, including some chocolate letters left over from Christmas, which were now half price - and being two chocoholics on the loose, we were eagerly looking to see what we could find.

We had a good laugh when we saw the name LUCIFER and wondered whoever would name their child that! The chocolate wasn't out of date until January 2015 so I mentioned to Susan that we could "make" JESUS to save for Christmas this year - which I thought was a good idea, but Susan said that if she did that, she would forget where she had put it.....so we wandered on. Ever mindful that I needed to find something for a blip today, I spotted a scarecrow and asked Susan to stand by its side and she agreed - what a friend!

So here is my collage for today - thank you, Susan, for a lovely lunch - we must do it again soon!

When we honestly ask ourselves
which person in our lives means the most to us,
we often find that it is those who,
instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures,
have chosen rather to share our pain
and touch our wounds
with a warm and tender hand.
