Jelly-Fish-Eye
I (Annie) woke up today at the jet lagged time of 4am - but at least this overlapped with UK time so Chris and I could post yesterday's blip! Got myself back to sleep again at 6am for a couple more hours...
One of my hosts here, Pat, went with me to Monterey Aquarium. We wanted to see the baby Sea Otter they have there - and it didn't disappoint! It had been rescued from the wild and was being taught how to do everything it should do in the wild. We learnt that Sea Otters are buoyant for the first few years of their life, and the mothers make a small raft of Kelp and "park" their babies on it when diving for food - so they can find them again when they come back up. How fabulous is that?!
The blip is the amazing Jellyfish exhibit at the aquarium. It ought to be used for relaxation therapy, as the jellyfish are so graceful and peaceful to watch...
We got back to the house in the afternoon to see a neighbour's AC Cobra that he'd built. A beautiful car - I was lucky enough to be taken for a ride.
A lovely evening with food and wine, chatting and watching their sparrow-equivalents feeding as the sun goes down: around 50 fabulous Hummingbirds.
My (Chris) day was not quite as exciting but the evening brought the third studio portrait session. We got quite a lot more adventurous this week and tried using some flashlights, our Lotus Elise and some sunglasses for something a bit different. Best of the set is here.
Ignore the EXIF data, this was taken with an 8mm fish-eye!
