Puerto Vallarta Church
I took this photo at least 15 years ago on one of our first of many trips to Puerto Vallarta. It was rainy and we were not as comfortable in Mexico as we are now, yet we were still riding a public bus from the old section of town to our hotel on the road from the airport at the start of town. The bus stopped to pick someone up and I snapped this shot out the window as the rain came down. We we returned to the United States, I wanted to get some shots from the trip enlarged. I really liked the reflections on the wet cobbles, but the sky was a dull grey and the quality of image was not great. I talked with my photo lab at the time and they added some color to the sky and performed a treatment that turned a mediocre photo into something of an art piece (now I would probably do it myself, such is the power of computers).
We have had it hanging as a reminder of that trip ever since. Well, our apartment simply does not have the wall space for a 20x30 framed print, so we sold it to one of the Art Show attendees. Over the years of display the glass had become clouded, so before we said goodbye we took it all apart and cleaned it up good as new. Hopefully the new owner will get as much joy from it as we have over the years.
