Friday Night Cancelled

FRIDAY

A long and tiring day.

The last thing I wanted when I arrived at Kings Cross was this. No electric trains running on the East Coast mainline due to power lines bring down.

The Edinburgh train (diesel) was oversubscribed by a factor of 4. I couldn't get near as there were hundreds in the queue before me and even then I would have had to stand in a crowded coach for 2 hours.

The attendant advised me to " come back tomorrow!"

Walked to Euston and eventually managed to get back to Huddersfield via the West Coast/ Transpennine service.

Ended up staying the night at Travelodge in Halifax.
