Wentworth Woodhouse
We were ip early this morning as Jenny and I watched the men's skiing slope style event where one of Jenny's school mates was competing. He placed 5th in the end due to an injury, but it was good watching all the competitors, it was like watching someone ace a level of SSX!
Today we visited Wentworth Woodhouse. It is Europe's largest stately home and has recently opened up to the public. We booked a tour which included views of the marble saloon, a beautiful marble floored room with a 360 degree balcony where Anna Pavlova danced for King George V! I had spotted the house in my Brides magazine and though it might make a gorgeous reception venue, then hearing that Anna Pavlova once danced there fits perfectly within our wedding theme of 1920's deco and ballet theme!! Coincidence!?
Anyway, the tour was very interesting and enjoyable and afterwards we went to the Wentworth garden centre cafe for lunch.
Once we came home we watched olympic men's figure skating and had a stewy minestrone soup homemade by mummy; delicious.
