The Anchor Hotel, Market Square, Horsham

With an INSET Day tomorrow and Half-Term holiday next week, today is the last day at work for a little while. It has however been an incredibly sociable and enjoyable week at work in spite of a lot of my colleagues sadly off due to illness and other reasons. After work I needed to return to the bank to sort out the last thing that needed dealing with which was good.

On my way back, I took a picture of the Anchor Hotel in Market Square. This is a fine Victorian building in an Italianate style built in 1899. It has served a number of functions, having also been a bank branch, and for some time a wine bar called Bar Vin that had a very rough wooden floor and the feel of a Wild West Saloon and not very inviting in my opinion! Now it has reverted to it's orginal name and now looks really smart - an old building brought back to life and functioning under the name it was built as. I always think pubs are well worth photographing as they are often full of character, history and individuality.
