Walking
"Which is easier: to say, “Your sins are forgiven,” or to say, “Get up and walk”?" Matthew 9:5
Here is another picture of my nephew's foot. This time he is wearing slipper socks!! I thin my sister thinks he is just going to get up and walk and is preparing for this.... I think these are very cute, if not a little amusing!!
I have been careful not to choose the same Bible verse as previously, so have gone instead to some of Jesus' teaching. Jesus does not provide us with an answer to this question, but he does say both things to a paralysed man who obviously could not walk, but then did get up and walk. He also reminded people that as the Son of God he had the right to forgive sins, as they were saying he was blaspheming.
This chapter has lessons about healing, and how simple it can be, and also about sins being forgiven. This man was forgiven of his sins because of his faith. He saw Jesus and believed in him, I am sure that this changed him and so he was forgiven of his sins. It is hard not to be changed when you see a glimpse of Jesus. I am looking forward to meeting him properly!! I wonder what that will do...
