A Suffolk Eye

These Doors Are Alarmed..

..and even the windows are a little nervous.

Whenever I have the chance on a Friday I'll spend a couple of hours in the Ipswich Library's Northgate Room doing my homework.

It is a glorious place for study, with dark wood, victorian stained glass, wonderful birds and beasts decorating the plasterwork (my favourite is a big spider in a rather chunky web) and dusty copies of Wisden going back to the beginning of last century.

Peace perfect peace.

(I don't know why the doors are alarmed usually, but tonight it might well be at the thought of the 80mph gusts and heavy rain that are predicted for later on. You can see the rain has started already)
