An intrepid river crossing...!

Woof! Well that's what it felt like for me - trying to cross this makeshift bridge over the stream in the woods this afternoon. It was that or wade through, so although I was a bit nervous, I opted to stay dry! We haven't been deep into this wood since the huge storm last year which inflicted terrible damage to so many trees and led to a ban on people entering. The ground has been so churned up by the machinery used to process all the fallen trees, it's been impossible to walk there (well, for soft humans anyway!) until recently. Now spring is on it's way, and I'll be back again very soon!
