Puddings galore
This evening was the reveal about what's going to happen to all the woollen squares which people in Abergavenny have been knitting since Christmas. They are all going to be sewn together to decorate the Close-Knit Community Tree, the exact location of which will be kept a secret until the yarn-bormbing is done on Mother's Day, 30th March. People are being invited to sponsor a square in celebration of someone they know or admire. All to support the work of a charity called Zimele which support communities in South Africa. People from those communities are knitting 500 squares (for which they are being paid) and volunteer knitters here are aiming to match that number.
To celebrate the reveal we had a Puddings evening. OB and I sang a few songs, including the 100% appropriate cabaret song by William Bolcom "Lime Jello Marshmallow Cottage Cheese Surprise"! I should have attempted to make one! Instead I made a rather healthy banana yoghurt flan.
