Wedding Dancers
Wow! What a day it was! Ricky and I were privileged to be the official photographers at one of the loveliest weddings I have ever attended. WE were on the go from 1.pm until 11.30pm. Happy but exhausted we left guests still dancing at the reception and headed homewards. WE captured a wonderful array of images which nevertheless will take a considerable amount of time to process to our satisfaction.
The wedding was truly multicultural with folk attending from all corners of the world. Russia, Moldova, England, New Zealand and Vanuatu. I could go on at length about this really fun and joyous celebration. The bride and groom is an older couple and it was wonderful to see their adult children looking so happy as well.
There were a large number of guests including a contingent of folk from Vanuatu from Pacifica. They were there in traditional dress and with drums and guitars. They accompanied the bridal couple into the wedding venue on the edge of a lovely stream in Waterlea Gardens, Pollard Park. They did a very lively dance during the ceremony…real foot-tapping stuff. I had trouble keeping my camera steady.
Many of the guests, ourselves included, attended a “pot-luck” lunch at the bride and groom’s home this morning. There was a great feast laid out under the trees in their garden… a fitting end to a wonderful occasion.
So my blip is getting on for 24 hours late…..
