Winandsea beach

Double Skype session this morning with one of best friends from uni then dad. Then we went out for brunch (again) in birdrock at a place called Beaumonts. The sister restaurant of Brockton villa in la jolla cove it also serves the killer coast toast (both meanings - good, and artery clogging). We took our guests to have a brief glimpse of the pacific at nearby winandsea beach (blipped) but despite the sunshine it was a bit nippy with a strong breeze.

After our guests left for their 6 hr drive back to Tucson we prepared for our late valentines day treat. We went to the nearby and fancy l'estancia hotel and spa for a couples massage. At vast expense I was feeling a little underwhelmed. The massage was good - if a little painful at times as they worked out the knots. But the steam room decidedly lacked steam, and the whirlpool jacuzzi bath notably lacked bubbles. We got a free foot treatment out of it but we will not be returning.
