Home alone
The rest of the family have flown off to cold climes (school trip to Poland and skiing in Andorra). As the thought of skiing makes me (and my dodgy back) wince, I am happy to stay here and play during half-term. As part of that playing, I was out in the backgarden stripping blackberry shoots of leaves and thorns in readiness for basket making, when this chap appeared. He was giving it the full puffed out chest treatment but still looked slightly scruffy and forlorn. He sat for a while sunning himself so I was able to get a good look at the gorgeous colour of his plummage.
Off to the pub this evening, see, this home alone lark is pretty good.
