Everlasting

I have finally found out that the trees in my garden are called schefflera actinophylla, also known as umbrella plants. The seeds that I have been watching with great interest are usually eaten by kangaroos and flying foxes, in their native Australia, but here in Cyprus we don't have a lot of wildlife sadly, so the seeds are slowly dropping off and being left uneaten (although I have been tempted). They feel quite hard and remind me a little of Willy Wonka's everlasting gobstoppers, from the old 70's film. I might try to dry a couple out and eat keep them.
