..Received our FiT (Feed in Tariff) payment today! A paltry £10.35, and for the period 19 Nov to 11 Feb!
Now lets consider this. These are the darkest months of the year here in the NW corner, and add to that days of bad weather. We've produced 55 kW in 84 days. That's not a lot. Approximately 0.6 kW per day. Some days have produced nothing. We're now building up the daily amounts, and are nearly getting 4 kW per day as the days start to draw out.
Last year we produced about 2500 kW for which we get paid 16.6 p per unit. Added to that we get 50% of our units (estimated) paying 4.64 p per unit (easier to say we get 2.32 p per unit for exporting to the grid). So the annual payment works out at 19 p per unit x 2500 units = £475.00. We can use those units for free as well, so currently paying about 13 p per unit, we use £325.00, making a total of £800 per year.
We should pay for the system in 12 years, and then get another 12 making money..
Today's music, I was going to put up Train coming round the bend, but this is too beautiful to leave out.. The Velvet Underground, with Lou Reed..
