Pay it forward

I initially took this photo on my way home because it is an example of a building viewed in one point Perspective and my Studio Art students are currently engaged in drawing external, internal, imaginary and from life scenes in 1pt perspective (last year).

Today's photo is of the entrance to the Feyyaz Berker Building - our Science block. (Other side of the doorway here!). Feyyaz Berker, b 1925, is a graduate of Robert College, a renown figure in Turkey, successful businessman, sponsor and exemplar for our students as he is still an active presence in life of the school (here). Like many subsequently successful graduates, he perpetuates the philosophy to 'pay it forward' by supporting current students who may in turn, support others in the future. Thus RC, founded in 1863, continues with an emphasis on philanthropy and social responsibility. The Alumni Association is extraordinarily powerful, philanthropic and world-wide omni present.
