Spanish platter

Work day today so an indoor last minute blip. My brother gave me the money for this platter for my birthday about 13 years ago. It was from a Spanish shop in Kendal, I was at Highgate vets 'seeing practice' whilst at vet school. I could have bought everything in that shop. I think the plate was supposed to be for decoration but I always serve food on it, its so bright and gorgeous. I'm missing my little brother a lot this week as it's his birthday coming up. He lives in America, a couple of days ago he texted me past midnight to say if you're up I'm about to walk past the library webcam (he works at a uni). It was surreal watching a snowy evening scene and waiting for my brother to appear and leap around waving at me in front of the live webcam. It was such a tenuous but very heartfelt connection and it made me miss him a lot ever since.
