Never forget.

This is Alice this morning. She has been chosen to lay a wreath at the war memorial for Armistice Day.

She is wearing some of my dads medals from WWII. Unfortunately he didn't live long enough to witness Alice being born but I'm sure he was with her today. Nor did my grandad who miraculously survived the first day of the Somme, being stretchered off the battle filed after being hit by shrapnel.

The faux pas of having the medals on the wrong side was spotted in time by her Grandad Alex, who was the standard bearer for the REME at today's ceremony.

Whether you feel that wars are just or not is immaterial as the people who fight in them put their lives on the line every day for the cause and for that we must never forget them.
