What's the point?

For the last 10 weeks, and this has more to do with my lack of tidying up ambition, these selective golf clubs have perched against our larder door. For 10 weeks there has been absolutely no chance of me playing golf whatsoever so what's the point of them being there? For the last 20 or so weeks this washing line has stood by our larder door. It's too big for the hole in our garden to actually use so what's the point in it being there? Finally our broom and dustpan & brush have stood by our larder door for a good 7 weeks. I have no intention of using them so what's the .... (clearly I'm joking. If Lady A reads this I'm going to get an elbow to the ribs)
