Free

"You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness." Romans 6:17

This is a picture of us waiting for our free meal. Last week we went to an establishment which shall remain nameless, and Beth found a caterpillar on her lettuce in her burger. Luckily she found it before she bit into it!! So we took it back just to point it out and they promised us a free meal, which we had this evening.

The Bible verse talks about being free from sin, but becoming a slave to righteousness. This is a good thing, as the chapter goes onto say, when we were a slave to sin these things all led to death, but now we are free we are called to lead righteous lives and this will lead to holiness.

These verses follow on from a section which talked about how Jesus took on all our sins and has saved us, so obviously the question that leads on from this for some people is if it matters then if we sin or not. So the writer was making the point that actually we should lead a life of righteousness, which leads to holiness, which in turn leads to eternal life.
