Timber!

Great start to the day with the Scottish G.B. Team Women Curlers getting their bronze medal! Then out into some soft rain and past this eyecatching pile of timbers, down into the village to have our first COAST coffee of 2014. The great thing about coming back for a new year is that you immediately fall into your Arran life; the Regulars are all there having coffee; continuing their conversations and starting new ones even as they say "We must get going!" ; sharing news of a new grandchild or recently engaged son! This is part of our life here and we miss it when we are on the mainland.

Home this afternoon to avoid tomorrow's stronger winds, but back soon; it's just the start.
